A Successful Relationship Begins with A Successful Self

If you would like to assure yourself of having a successful relationship, then you might want to begin it with making sure YOU are a success yourself first. That’s right! The outcome of your relationship will somehow, someway be a mirror reflection of you.

Often there are expectations of others in relationships, when truth be told, the individual with the expectations may be the very one who falls short on their part in the relationship. This said, it is so important to make sure that you are being honest with yourself and living life to the fullest, as best as you can; especially before adding another person to the equation.

Success can mean different things to different people; so first be clear on your definition of what success is to you. Whatever that turns out to be, you can look for your relationship to be successful on those same terms. It makes so much sense to look for and expect for your relationship to mirror your own life. After all, success does breed success. Right?

Ask yourself the following questions to see where you are in terms of success:

  1. Am I satisfied with who and where I am in life (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, and health)?
  2. What am I doing to change any dissatisfaction (if any)?
  3. Am I surrounding myself with people who are doing better than me, to pull me forward?
  4. Am I helping someone else be, do, and have better?

I’m sure you’re on a roll now. These are just a few questions to get you started looking at your own life in terms of success. Because if you’re satisfied, you can consider yourself a success in your own terms. You are the only one to change what is no longer working for you in this moment.

I hope this has been helpful in getting you to stop and take a look at where you are, and making a conscious decision to make sure it’s where you want to be.
