So, What Do You Want?

So, what do you suppose it is that you really want? Nobody knows the answer to this question better than you. If this is true, then why is it that we tend to look externally for answers rather than from within?

Why do we look to others to provide us with information about us that only we could know?

Someone else may be able to give you some insight into who they might think you are after you have shared “the real you” with them; but know this for certain; who you truly are did not originate with them.

Who you are and the path you are to take in life has been put inside you, like a micro-chip inside a computer. Because your path is uniquely designed for you alone to take, it is imperative that you not allow too many outside influences to decide for you.

Did you know what you wanted to do or be growing up? I didn’t. You name it, I chased it; well, almost anyway, lol. I did have my limits, but still, I spent money, went places, and did things I wish I hadn’t, only to find that what I thought I was looking for was there with me the whole time.

I was on a quest to find me. Now who could tell me who or where I was, or was to be, besides me? Who? If only I had known that a few decades ago. Who knows, maybe it took all that for me to know what I know now. With that, I can look at it from a different perspective.

When you have decided on a direction to take—however you may have come upon that decision—and things just don’t turn out to your satisfaction, take a moment and ponder things over. You might just need to regroup.

I like what Oprah Winfrey says, “Failure is God’s way of saying, excuse me! You’re moving in the wrong direction.”

Something has to happen to get our attention. What’s happening in your life to get your attention that you may be going the wrong way? And who’s to know that better than you?

In life we do learn from others, but more importantly, we eventually learn that what we need is already within us. The hardest part in realizing it though, is just stepping out on what we sense is coming from within.

Intuition—it’s like looking into yourself—you know, “in to I”; having a sense of knowing. You just know, even when you can’t explain, you know you know, that you know. Instead, we listen to all the outside noise coming from others, like parents, friends, lovers, or anyone else who “seems” like they may know something—anything. It doesn’t matter what or how much they know about anything, but that they seem to know something we don’t.

An important lesson for us to get is learning how to just be. Why is this so difficult?  Everybody seems to know better than we do about what we are to do and who we are supposed to be except us. At least, that’s what “they” think anyway, lol.

We learn as we go, that outside influences should only be taken into consideration; but they are not to have the final say in our lives. That’s on us. We are the ones to be held accountable for what we do, or don’t do for that matter.

Life is a process of learning who you truly are and then simply being. Once you learn to accept and be who you are, then you can begin to do the things you need to do in order to have the things you want.

The late Zig Ziglar often said, “You got to be before you can do, you got to do before you can have.”

The being comes before the action. The action comes because you are (or, because you be; which doesn’t sound right, but you get what I mean, right). The having part is like the gravy; it only comes because of what’s in front of it, the being AND the doing

The being and the doing is about giving away all you came here to give, especially since you can’t take it back with you. Leave it with and/or for someone else.

Love and care enough for others that you can’t help but be loved and cared for. I just want to be so that I can do whatever it is I am inspired to be and do; that’s what I want!  What about you?  What do you want?
