Healthy self-esteem is knowing what it is you want for yourself and then being able to ask for it. Otherwise, how do you expect to get it? People aren’t mind readers. They don’t automatically know what it is you want without you speaking up for yourself.
According to Google, self-esteem is confidence in one’s own worth or abilities; self-respect. You may not have the confidence you desire at this moment, but everything starts at some point, right? Start working on building your confidence muscle to help it grow stronger. You’ll feel better as you take one step at a time. Get over one hurdle at a time. That’s healthy!
Do not suffer in silence alone. Do what you can to help yourself and more will happen to encourage you along the way. That’s healthy and it begins with you. Additional tips include:
Do something you enjoy
Build positive relationships
Be kind to yourself first before expecting others to be
Work on having better boundaries, beginning with learning to say NO
If you can start with these, even one, you’ll begin to see small changes occur over time. Reach out and connect below if you need support in moving forward with achieving healthy self-esteem.

Great image to complement this post. You’re right, most time we really do have to ask for what we want.
