How well are you taking care of you? And what are you using as a barometer to gauge how well you’re doing at it? Remember, nobody else can take care of you the way you can.
There are so many different ways to take care of you and your over all mental health and well being. A great way to start is by keeping your thoughts in check, because they will run everything else, if you let it.
The way you feel about yourself shows up first in your thoughts about yourself. So, it’s important to cultivate and nurture good and happy thoughts as much as you can, because they will help you feel the same way. If you think good thoughts, you’ll have good feelings. How does that sound?
It doesn’t have to be anything big. Great things start small. So, think of something small that you can do to make yourself feel good. That, in and of itself starts with a thought, and to have such a thought will most certainly affect how you feel.
The idea of feeling good sounds great, but remember, it begins with thinking good thoughts. Start there. This is so important that May became “Mental Health Awareness Month”. Isn’t it something that an entire month is devoted to something we should know to give attention to without being reminded of it? Sure! But it does serve as an important reminder that we should be aware of our own mental health. After all, if we aren’t, who else will do it for us?
If you haven’t done so already, take a moment to bring awareness to your mental health.
How are you thinking?
What are you thinking?
How does what you’re thinking make you feel?
Think about that and determine if you need attention in that area. Can you use a listening ear? If so, reach out and connect with someone you feel supported by. Do something that promotes positive thinking, and then nurture it. It can be something so simple as:
- Taking a brief naturistic walk
- Sitting in the sun for a brief period
- Listening to music
- Visiting the zoo or your local pet store for a chance to pet an animal
- Watching an inspiring movie
- Talking to someone you care about
These are just a few simple ways you can take care of your mental health. Try one or two of them and let me know what happened for you in doing the activity.
Here’s rooting for you and your overall Mental Health and well being!
